Um...."rollover" tag? Crap. I'm thinking. . .MOUSEOVER!? Is that it? :o)
Heh.
Posted by: Emma on April 3, 2004 12:35 AMYeah it's a mouseover... that's the only way to make it work in IE, as IE doesn't recognize psuedo classes. Psuedo classes is a much more elegant method to achive the same effect. Psuedo classes work in all CSS compliant browsers such as Mozilla. Do yourself a favor... download, install and use Mozilla (if you aren't already)
Any, I picked this up over at Vigilance Matters. He did a self interview with a list of questions. There are big spaces between the questions and I had happened to run across the the space and the answers popped up. Wow... that's really cool. So I did a source view and gleaned his method.
I couldn't make it work the way he did for some reason. The /div tags wouldn't look right for some reason. so I had to break out my BIG hammer and go to work!
I put the style code on my stylesheet, and wrapped the answers in a span class. Then, my answers would always show as black text until you moused over, then they would disappear as requested. So I wrapped that code in a span class that made the answer text white as default color.
Now that I think about it, I could have made all the answers links back to the post and set my default links to white and the hover to grey and the visited to black. The only drawback there is clicking on the link and going to the permalink page. I wonder... can you set a "null" link? I'll check into that and see if it's possible as that will be much more flexible.
Posted by: Madfish Willie on April 3, 2004 09:17 AMDo you like the answer to disappear after mouseover or the sticky effect? I want answers. I CAN handle The Truth!
Posted by: Madfish Willie on April 3, 2004 09:48 AMI prefer the sticky effect.
Actually, what would be REALLY cool would be to have it toggle with a mouseover, so you could make answers come and go as you please.
Don't know if that's possible.
