Comments? We don't leave no stinkin comments!

What's the deal with people never leaving comments to my stuff? It's not funny? You don't like it? You hate my guts?

Maybe I'm just weird, but when I go to a site and browse around and read stuff, I leave a footprint so the blogger knew that I was there. Shit, say something... anything... hi... bye... good morning... fuck you! I expect the usual suspects to follow up on this and leave me the obligatory FY in the comments and I have a comment for you: Bite Me!

Just wonderin, s'all!

Uh, I had the same sinking feeling about the lack of comments but I've gotten used to it and all. (Maybe because you call it a "Tip Jar?")

I guess that just goes to show what a cheap bunch of jack-offs read my blog. So, I renamed it! Now, let's see you ignore me!

[PS Just kidding, but maybe Jay has a point... We'll see.]

You have intimidated me into remarking that I am still using Mozilla and still having trouble reading the links. I hope to soon get into the habit of using IE to visit your blog, which will enhance my reading experience....

What the HELL are you talking about?? I leave comments here all the time....uh...I think...

anyway, get me a Scotch and Water, and quit'yer bitchin'.....Heh!

See? Two victims, er, friends now feel at ease saying their mind knowing that they don't need to drop a quarter everytime they do. :P

Eric is among the few that do leave comments along with Harvey, Candy, SilverBlue sometimes, Blackfive... I know my stuff's not controversial and it's more... crappy... not very good... fuck... now I know why no one leaves comments... I need a better site!

Plus Linda, Finn the Viking, who else...?

Posted by: The Bartender on October 28, 2003 12:45 PM

Fuck you!

Feel better now?

Posted by: Victor on October 28, 2003 02:09 PM

Victor: Bite Me... much better now!

Posted by: The Bartender on October 28, 2003 02:19 PM

Hmmm. Can't decide how to respond. Would you prefer:

A: I've cut off people for less.
B: There's just no pleasin' some people. . .

Victor - just kidding! Thanks for stopping by the joint and leaving a tip for The Bartender!

Posted by: The Bartender on October 28, 2003 03:01 PM

Hey, I leave comments! All the time! But I have to agree, it's hard to read in mozilla and firebird. It looks GREAT in IE!

Posted by: Candy on October 28, 2003 05:23 PM

If anybody knows how to fix that, I am more than happy to try it!

Posted by: The Bartender on October 28, 2003 06:45 PM

You've got the best hook for a web site since Harvey thought of posting money with graffiti on it.

And send me and Eric the bottle this time. With all of your complaining, you've missed a couple of rounds.

* sound of bottle sliding *

That's better. Thanks.

I want to comment everywhere I go because I know how much I love getting comments. I just hate to leave something like "Amen!" or "LOL" because I think it'll be a disappointment to the blogger.. so I often don't write anything unless I have something I think is worth reading. Now that I know better (and I'd prefer any ol' comment to nothing, too), I'll try harder!!

Instead of "Tip Jar" or "Talk to me!", maybe something bartenderish like "Bend my ear", "I'm listening..", "Cry in your beer", (wow this is hard), "Tell me yer troubles", "Belch", ...

Actually, the more I think about it the more I like "Tip Jar".

Posted by: Tuning Spork on October 28, 2003 07:54 PM

Actually - I was just posting that to be jacking with everyone. Although, I must say, the most comments I've had on a post before this one is 7 for my drink recipe contest.

Posted by: The Bartender on October 28, 2003 09:58 PM

Victor - just kidding!

I *know* you were just kidding, my Munuvian blogbro.

Of course, I might not have been ;)

Seriously, tho, Tuning Spork makes a good point. People might see a reference to tip jar and think it's a disguised PayPal donation button.Truth be told, I did, at first. All that dang Budweiser...

Sounds like The Sporkster (heh--betcha he *hates* being called Sporkster) has the idea for your next Big Contest. Give him one on the house, eh?

Posted by: Victor on October 29, 2003 05:54 AM

There, is that better? ;->

Posted by: Linda on October 29, 2003 05:11 PM

Here is your comment.

(but I feel the same way...what am I talking to hear myself talk people!?)

Posted by: serenity on October 29, 2003 05:44 PM

Ah, fuck you, Barkeep. Ya lousy, whiny, ungrateful, snivelly little bitch. Christ, what a little girl. "Love me! Pay attention to me! I'm special!"

Shit. Well, not only did I did I leave a fucking comment to this same fucking post at your hole-in-the-wall Blogspot joint, I gave you a whole fucking post of your own over at Bad Money.

Now pass the damn pretzels.

And let's hear no more of this "I can outswear a sailor" crap, either.
