Site Beta Testing & Code Validation

Testing and Validation

HammerHead Design sites are tested using these specifications:

  • Windows XP

  • Windows 98 SE

  • MS Internet Explorer 6.0

  • Mozilla 1.5

  • 1280x1024 resolution

  • 1024x768 resolution

  • 800x600 resolution
  • These are minimum requirements for taking full advantage of all the internet's multi-media compatibilities. Even Miscrosoft, with all their money and assets, does not code or provide support for the lowest common denominator. Current browser updates are free. If your are using Win95 as an operating system, we strongly recommend upgrading. In the software world, using Win95 [released over 8 years ago] is like driving a 30 year old car: it might get to where you want to go but you can expect to have all sorts of problems.

The beta site will remain up at the test lab for two days. Please browse through the entire site to test for bugs and browser compatibilty. If you encounter any problems with display, or any of the program's features do not perform as expected, leave a message in the comments. In that message, please include the operating system and version you are using [Win 98SE / etc], the browser and version you are using [IE6.0 / Mozilla 1.5 / etc], what resolution you are browsing at [1024x768 / 800x600 / etc], and exactly what the problem is. Madfish Willie will take this information and work out any problems with the beta site before we transfer it over to the main site permanently. And please feel free to come back and see if whatever bug you reported is fixed.

If you wish to contact me directly, my e-mail address is MadfishWillie@hotmail.com. Abusive e-mail will be responded to with brutal force and The Ultimate Insult!

After readers have tested the beta, I will compile all comments and recode any areas that have conflicts. If I am not able to locate or recode any problem areas, I will discuss possible solutions with the site owner and how to implement them.

After the site design is complete and approved, I will run the site through W3C validation for XHTML 1.0 and CSS 2.0 specifications. At that time, any code that does not pass the specification will be corrected. I will do a screen capture and forward to site owner at completion of validation of each segment. XHTML and CSS validation logos will be included on the final design presented for your installation.
